To PFLI Members:

To start off our new season (2024 - 2025) PFLI will host a Zoom Sunday Lecture on Photography on September, 15, 2024, at 1:00 pm.  Our speaker will be Long Island's own Alan Agdern, who is an award-winning photographer, an experienced and popular teacher of photography, and a member of both PFLI's Hall of Fame and PFLI's All Stars.  He is a well-regarded judge at club and PFLI monthly competitions, as well as at PFLI's end-of-season Leonard Victor competitions.

 The Zoom invitation is shown at the bottom of this message.

Alan's topic will be "Anatomy of a Competitive Image".  With PFLI monthly competitions starting in October, and club competitions starting in September, this topic is both timely and has clear practical applications going forward.  The presentation will cover: (1) What judges look for in an image, (2) What it takes to make a great image, (3) Acceptable use of AI in images, and (4) How to prepare print and digital images for presentation in competitions.  Alan will show examples of images that did well in club and PFLI competitions. 

Alan is a member of both the Syosset and Wantagh Camera Clubs, at the Salon (Master) level in Color and B&W prints and Digital. He teaches workshops, and gives presentations, critiques, and private instructions in the use of Lightroom, Photoshop, and Topaz post-processing softwares. 

Please join us on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 1:00 pm on Zoom for an educational session on creating competition-worthy images. As mentioned above, I will send the Zoom invitation as we get closer to the presentation date.
